"After an initial training in sculpture, I spent many years as a technician at Goldsmith’s College in London, more recently I worked as an ‘Artist in Education’ delivering largely 3 dimensional projects alongside students of all ages and abilities.
My current work is two dimensional, drawing inspiration from the interwar golden age of commercial art, particularly travel and underground posters.
I have always been fascinated by the interaction between Fine Art and Design so popular in the mid 20th.century.
By adding a contemporary narrative, my ‘posters’ are not real posters, instead I endeavour to celebrate the historic and cultural traditions of Britain.
I also enjoy lino-cut printing, trying to capture the underlying movement and rhythms of birds, their sometimes complex forms and mannerisms, recasting them in a bold and imaginative way"
